Civil and building under one roof
Most Ugandan jobs need both. A school needs a road in, a drain around it and a building on it. Splitting that across three contractors is where programmes and budgets go wrong, so Ragmah carries all of it.
Built for difficult ground
Steep plots, black cotton soil, wetland edges, sites with no access road and sites that flood every April. The survey and drainage work happens first because that is what decides whether the rest survives.
Small enough to be answerable
You get the people who priced the work on the site doing the work. When something changes, you hear it from us before it becomes a variation you did not expect.

2016
Registered and on site
Ragmah (U) Ltd starts trading as a Ugandan contractor doing site preparation, masonry and small building works around Kampala and Wakiso.
Civil works
Roads, drainage and structures added
Access roads, culvert crossings, stone pitching, retaining walls and reinforced concrete brought in-house, along with the survey and setting-out capability those need.
Plant
Machines and operators
Excavators, loaders, rollers, tippers and mixers put to work on Ragmah contracts and hired out with operators between them, which is what makes mobilisation fast.

Health and safety on site
PPE issued and checked daily, toolbox talks before high-risk tasks, edge and opening protection, scaffold inspection, and incident reporting with a named person responsible on every site.
Protecting the people around the works
Hoarding, barrier tape, cones, warning boards and trained marshals wherever the public, staff or students keep using the site during the contract.
Quality assurance
Materials approved before delivery, field density on compacted layers, reinforcement inspected before pour, concrete cubes tested, levels and falls re-shot, and a snagging list closed out before handover.
Site protection and reinstatement
Spoil and debris cleared to approved tips, dust and silt controlled at source, and every surface the works touched left reinstated before the site is handed back.
